About Karson Butler Hospitality cO.

Mee Heng Low Social Club is the next chapter in Karson Butler Hospitality Co.’s commitment to San Luis Obispo’s historic Chinatown.

For twin sisters Amber Karson and Emily Butler, stewards of the Ah Louis Store across Palm Street since 2016, the project brings together the things that have shaped their work for decades: hospitality, gathering, retail, education, mahjong, and a deep respect for places with stories worth carrying forward. Entrusted by the Gin family to help shape Mee Heng Low’s next chapter, Karson Butler is approaching the project with deep respect for its history and an equally strong belief in its future. Through thoughtful experiences, meaningful partnerships and new reasons to gather, the vision is to celebrate Chinatown’s history while helping ensure it remains vibrant, relevant and connected to the community for generations to come.
